Hyper Scape’s Season One Battle Pass will include a free and a premium track featuring 100 tiers of exclusive unlockable cosmetic items. Players will be able to collect a new Memory Shard each week to learn about different characters and events, while comics released each season will also flesh out the story. Hyper Scape’s launch coincides with the arrival of Season One: The First Principle, which kicks off the game’s overarching narrative, and adds new events, content, and a new Battle Pass. “There is a mystery in the Hyper Scape created by Prisma Dimensions that players will have to solve,” Ubisoft says. Hyper Scape is out now and free to play on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, letting players jump into the urban landscape of Neo Arcadia and mix it up in 100-player battles. Season 1 will also see the game’s overarching narrative begin to unfold. Solo and Squad Crown Rush game modes will be complemented by limited time modes throughout the season. Console players who have unlocked or purchased Technical Test and Open Beta cosmetic items, either by playing the live phases on PC or through Hyper Scape Crowncast, will have access to all those. Season 1: The First Principle will introduce 11 new guns, including a mid-range weapon called the Dragonfly, and 11 new Hacks, including Magnet, which can be used to trap opponents. When crossplay arrives, and if the Hyper Scape team can make some much-needed updates (and add new content) there is hope for the futuristic Battle Royale yet.Season 1 of the game, which is currently in open beta for PC players until August 2, will also begin on August 11.
Big promises were made, and as of yet, Ubisoft have not delivered on any of them. Surely, crossplay would be the saving grace of Hyper Scape, allowing streamers to play in mixed lobbies for further viewership potential (not to mention, actually fully lobbies…)? Is Hyper Scape Dying?

Teleport is Omen all over, while the Wall is suspiciously similar to Sage's ability in the FPS. They too seem to take inspiration from Apex Legends (Reveal – Bloodhound scan etc.), and, weirdly enough, Riot Games' tactical shooter VALORANT. It isn't just the design – the weapons act in almost exactly the same way, from damage numbers to clip sizes.Īnother thing to touch on is the abilities themselves, or " Hacks", as Hyper Scape calls them. It’s almost a meme how similar the guns are to the aforementioned BR Apex Legends. It seems the “cutting edge” Twitch extension, wasn’t enough to lure in viewership.
